One of the programme, that is dearer to RUCODE is the CBR for the differently abled. Initiated and encouraged by late Mr. Sundar Egbert this programme caters to the needs of the different types / categories of the disabled. By an initial house to house survey the different types of disabled are identified and the programmes are arranged in such a way for them. As soon as a child is born the new born screening is done to ascertain the conditions of the child.

As per the informations, available there are 70 million disabled people in India. One in every 10 children or 3 % of the country’s total child population falls in this category.

The Mentally Retarded and Cerebral Palsied children are specially taken care of by the Day Care Centre and Skill Development Centre in the villages.
